Today's morning we have spent only 2 of us, as Little Devil was in the Kindergarten and my Husband was having day off. We used the time to have a little walk through the city and enjoyed beautiful weather. We also took some pictures, to show You, how city we live in looks like.

Dnešek jsme strávili jen ve dvou a zatímco byl náš Malý Ďáblík ve školce, my se pěkně prošli po městě a užili si krásné dopoledne. Nafotili jsme také pár fotek, na kterých bychom Vám rádi ukázali, jak město, ve kterém žijeme, vypadá.

Karlsruhe is located in the south-west Germany on the French border. We live here with approximately 280k fellow inahbitants and most famous German river Rhine is just behind the corner.

Jmenuje se Karlsruhe a nachází se v jihozápadním Německu u hranic s Francií. Žijeme zde s přibližně 280 tisíci dalšími obyvateli a máme Rýn jako na dlani. 


City was established in 18th century by Charles, Margrave of Baden-Durlach and have a centre from which the streets radiate outward (same as Washington DC). Karlsruhe means Charles Repose, due to the legend that city was established when Charles was relaxing after hunt in the area and had a dream to build city in there. The city centre is dominated by a beautiful castle, which since few decades plays a role of museum.

Město nechal založit v 18. století markrabě Karel III. a nechal jej navrhnout na rýsovacím prkně (stejně jako např. Washington DC). Karlsruhe znamená doslova Karlův klid, podle legendy, kdy Karel po lovu odpočíval v této lokalitě a zdálo se mu o založení města.  Do středu města pak nechal vybudovat rozsáhlý zámek, který dnes slouží jako muzeum.


City centre is full of small coffee shops and beer gardens, from which You can see the city rush and enjoy local (almost French) atmosphere. On the longest shopping alley of whole Baden you can not only shop, but also try local cuisine.

Centrum je plné pouličních kaváren a pivních zahrad, ze kterých můžete pozorovat ruch města a nasávat zdejší (skoro až Francouzskou) atmosféru. Na nejdelší nákupní třídě celého Bádenska potom můžete nejen nakupovat, ale také ochutnávat místní lahůdky.


There are regular markets, where you can find stands with fruits, vegetables, cheese, sausages, meat, but also beautiful flowers, that look simply terrific :)

V Karlsruhe se pravidelně pořádají trhy, na kterých naleznete stánky s ovocem a zeleninou, sýry, uzeninami, masem, ale také spoustu krásných květinových stánků, které vypadají přímo božsky :).
